Saturday was one of my longest days ever: started with passing a drinking session with team mates for school (we had an assignment!); coincidentally meeting a team mate for lunch; watching a movie; and ending the day with a few drinks and Burger Machine with my best friends. I suddenly missed going home at 4am. Anyway, the first movie I get to watch is the Hereafter. We were supposed to watch The Green Lantern but ended up with this movie. I got to agree because Vic - my friend, told me this was pretty interesting and kinda in the horror genre, and I got to know that this was directed by one of my favorites - Clint Eastwood.
Being the long day that it was, I was really tired and the movie seat was comforting. The movie started with the thoughts that this was a horror movie on my mind. Well after 15 minutes, I figured out it wasn't. The pace of the story was very slow. I think that this was Clint Eastwood's attempt of an experimental film. Also, we were not spared of the cliche: everyone meets in the end twist. In order to not change my view of Clint Eastwood, I will always think of Gran Torino, and Million Dollar Baby whenever I try to recall this movie. I'm really sorry Clint, I don't really like it.
Just to give you an overview since I think I slept for more or less an hour, the movie was all about what happens after death: where dead people go and what they do - the Hereafter. Matt Damon plays a retired psychic who was forced to "read" again. He can communicate with a person's dead relative/friend/whatever by touching their hands. There was also this French lady, played by Cecile de France, who began to see visions of the Hereafter after being close to death. Well perhaps, everyone's favorite scene and the only interesting part on the film is about an English kid whose twin died. He was also Matt's last reading. In the end, after people from the US, London, and France met and the guy got the girl, the movie's done.
This was the first movie I watched for the year, and it wasn't really good. I just hope that this won't be a trend when I watch movies on cinemas. I believe there will be more movies that will save me. My movie verdict? It's disappointing considering the actors, director, and the original movie concept but, I still love Clint Eastwood.

Okay, Alright - It's Resolutions Time
So after reminiscing, it's the next favorite activity whenever a new year comes: Resolutions!
I am quite a bit suckish on this since the only resolution that I could really remember that I made last year is to lose weight and was unsuccessful (though mind you, there were moments last year wherein I did but just didn't go through with, okay, still I didn't lose weight in the end). Just to clarify, my notion of resolutions is not just stuff you want to change but stuff you actually wanna do. So this is not all about "painful" stuff, but things you want for yourself to achieve.
So, here's to another list of wishful thinking and must achieve (and I'll try to be realistic):

- Open up a bank account and actually put money in there.
- Limit (take note I said limit, not stop) the use of the plastic devil known as the credit card.
- Try a new career (fingers crossed).
- Study my camera and take better pictures.
- Less shopping, more saving.
- Travel and explore another country.
- Explore my country.
- Get good grades and hopefully start my thesis this year.
- Get my bum back to the gym.
- Diet and watch what I eat.

Adios 2010, Hola 2011!
This is every person's favorite activity when a year just ended and new year's here - Reminiscing!
2010 was the year of the zombies - spell out zombie literature, tv shows, and movies. I am thankful for this because it somehow covered up the screwed up vampire concept. It's time to revisit Night of the Living Dead, and maybe grab your own copy of Zombies VS Unicorns.
It was also the year of the footie. I watched the FIFA championships at 2am in Manila and it was all worth it for my favorite, Spain, had won and Iker Casillas stole my heart. I miss the sound of the vuvuzela. There's also the recently concluded 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup wherein I rediscovered old time crush, Phil Younghusband.
2010 was also the year that my brother got married, and made me realize of the do's and don'ts of marriage, and perhaps a little lesson about relationships. I stayed single for that year and am happy. With all that has happened, a boyfriend in 2010 would have been chaotic. To my brother, wishing you all the best.
All I know is that my 2010 didn't really go that well personally. This was the year that I realized that I am burned out. However, though that year was "suckish", I still have a lot of good things to be thankful for:
My good ol' friends as always make my year. Though I really got out less in 2010, I still enjoy the company of my friends. There was the occasional Sunday coffee with my Cubao crew, get togethers with my Humpday best friends, my Chevers and office friends who inject fun and laughter at work, and the Trops wherein our recently held General Ass/Christmas Party make me wanna drink more. Then there's the new friends: Graduate School friends and newly met people, and people that I met and just became friends with now. Generally, to ALL of my friends - Muchas Gracias for all the love and hoping for infinite years of friendship.
My health has been a blessing as well since I never got sick except for the latter part of the year and no trips to the hospital were made. I am also doing well with kicking out smoking (2nd year on March).
Of course, there's the family. Thank you for dealing with a daughter/ sister that's really hard to deal with, annoying, yet pretty cuddly.
I really am bad with the "reminiscing" stuff right now since I just wanna do what I am meant to do this weekend: sleep, eat, and watch a lot of tv. Therefore:
I will now leave with you my favorite 2010 song - The Resistance by Muse:
